We are officially in the designing stages!!

"What will your destiny be? A lot depends on you. The vows and beliefs you hold dear, speak directly to the universe, compelling it to act on your behalf. When sankalpa [resolution] is linked to dharma [life purpose], you'll be able to see how all things, all experiences–even obstacles–are guiding you. Never doubt that you have the key role in determining a life of true fulfillment and accomplishment."
Yogarupa Rod Stryker, author of The Four Desires

(a journal page I created)

You might wonder what the awesomely inspiring quote above might have to do with me creating a planner... well, everything!

These past days I've been looking at the larger picture of life and am in awe of how subtly (and patiently) life circumstances lead you to your destiny, should you choose to recognize and pursue it.

For me personally, the varying degrees of "coincidences"––from minor things like being a stationary addict, being creative, getting into scrapbooking, being an event planner, and then bigger events like taking The Artist's Way workshop, (after which I realized my true passion was Art and Photography, and so I gave up pursuing my Zoology degree in my last year and started from scratch again) and The Four Desires training with Rod Stryker (in which I was able to pinpoint my resolution–– financial stability), all led me to the point I am at now.

I have never been this passionate (or serious) about putting my ideas into physical manifestation... I guess now is definitely the right time! :)

And we are officially in the designing stages! YAY! Playing with color combinations, layouts, ways to make it fun, practical, and yet unique, creating something special for my client while they, in turn, will have something they can treasure, re-use, and be assured that theirs is the only one like it in the world is so exciting!!!

And with Christmas and the new year just around the corner, what better gift to give to that special person in your life? From busy mothers, students, best friends, aunts, individuals on the go... the list of people who this would be a special gift to is endless!

So, subscribe (if you have not), and stay tuned for exciting updates and sneak-peeks of all the goodies that will be included in these special planners!

Till then, live, laugh and love :)

And the search for the perfect planner continues...

Yes, I know it's the middle of 2012... and yes, I know that half the year is over and the world is supposedly coming to an end in December... so why would I be looking for a planner when the Underworld has set a date with me on December 21st? Because I'm obsessed with them!! Maybe I can help organize the torture schedule "down there". Hopefully the Mayan's were wrong and I can continue to live in "stationary" bliss ;)

My obsession with planners and organizers is downright ridiculous... Every year (and sometime twice or thrice a year) I purchase one for the very same reason everyone else does... because I feel unorganized without it.

Even though this is the digital era, I still LOVE the expression of the written word, the smell and feel of ink on paper, the ability to doodle, scratch out, filigree, decorate with different colors, itemize, check off, and savor the thoughtfulness of handwritten notes when everything else today relies on a keyboard... I did warn you I was obsessed :)

Alas, at least I had good intentions. Every year I purchased a planner with promises to put them in good use... but as the days/weeks went by, it slowly was forgotten and disappeared into the shelves of my brain (and the literal shelves in my room).

From Franklin Covey, to DayRunner, to the little cheap, pretty ones, nothing quenched my thirst as I always find something lacking in each. Sometimes I wished I could take the best from each and create my own, perfect version of it...

The creative scrapbooker in me sees potential in everything... my pulse quickens and my heart skips a beat when I see pretty paper and wonder how it can be put to use... I always wanted my perfect planner to be pretty, yet functional, something that would motivate me to be organized. And so, in 2008, my quest gave rise to my first handmade planner :D

Complete with tabs for the months of the year–along with other categories I needed–to a handmade bookmark, personalized cover, and personalized insert pages, my search was finally at an end.

Soon after, I made a journal for my best friend, taking in her thoughts about what she wanted in it... ample pages to write her poetry, sectioning off journaling and other doodle pages, but personalizing it to her tastes.

Even though I loved making my own planner, it was a tedious process and one I wasn't planning on repeating anytime soon. And so the years passed... and here I am back to being tired of my bought-planner and searching again for the perfect one...

But honestly, I thought, what better way to get what I want than to MAKE what I want? Would you want one that is so unique and personalized that you can be assured no other person has it but you, something that is hand made with love and care? After getting requests to design  planners for individuals, I think the time has come to push ahead and make it happen!

Stay tuned for my next post!! Till then, live, laugh and love :)
